Our story
A Lakewood landmark since 1952
Burs began in the early 1950s as a neighborhood coffee shop serving home-style meals, pies, and morning coffee. In the 1970s, Will Burslem and Verna Burris combined their names into Burs — and the tradition stuck.
The Burslem family ran the restaurant for 30 years. Just before the millennium, the Tweten family took the reins and still welcomes neighbors for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
